The “Cactus Corner” Child Development Center (CDC) is a 25,000 square foot single story building on an approximately five acres. This facility has a 232 child capacity for children ages 6 weeks through 5 years. The facility was designed and built to strict US Army Center of Standardization (COS) guidelines and was the first LEED Gold Certified Building in the Los Angeles District Corps of Engineers. The CDC houses 16 classrooms, full administrative areas with staff lounge and training room, a commercial kitchen, outdoor playgrounds and activity areas for infants, preschool, pre-K aged children.

Part Day Strong Beginnings Pre-K Program: Monday-Friday 0800-1100
Part Day Pre-Toddler/Toddler: Monday-Friday 0800-1100 and 1230-1530
Part Day Pre-School: Monday-Friday 0800-1100
CDC Hourly Care: Monday-Friday 0730-1630 in BLDG 1317 on Normandy Dr.
Available for infants, toddlers, and preschoolers. This is a great option for parents who need childcare for short periods of time, such as running errands, going out to lunch with friends, or hitting the gym for an aerobics class.
Rotational Childcare Saturdays
The CDC is closed weekends and holidays, however once a month they offer Saturday childcare as part of their Rotational Saturday series.
In order to use the CDC’s services, a child must be registered through Child, Youth, and School Services (CYSS) at Parent Central. Registering your child for CYSS is free and opens up many other child-related opportunities, such as classes at SKIES Unlimited and free childcare during Family Advocacy Program and Army Family Team Building classes.
